Detail Engineering

Detail Engineering: Precision Execution for Flawless Project Delivery

Detail Engineering is the phase where the project undergoes the transformation from design to execution. It is carried out in parallel with the procurement of the required materials and services, and continues throughout the construction phase of the project. This stage ensures that all design elements are translated into construction-ready details, ensuring quality, compliance, and readiness for operation.
Scope of Detail Engineering
The Detail Engineering phase encompasses a wide range of activities that are crucial to ensure the project progresses smoothly from concept to reality. It includes the following key deliverables:

Key Deliverables and Activities in Detail Engineering

Key Deliverables and Activities in Detail Engineering

Detail 3D CAD Drawings

- Scope: Creation of 3D CAD models for key components of the facility, including HVAC, equipment, piping, electrical systems, furniture, and building structures.
- Purpose: Ensure that all aspects of the design are accurately modeled and ready for construction.

Delivery Supervision / FAT (Factory Acceptance Test)

- Scope: Supervision of delivery and testing of equipment in the vendor’s factory before shipping.
- Purpose: Ensure equipment is manufactured as per the agreed specifications and standards before being shipped to the project site.

Execution of Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) Support on-site for DIS

- Scope: On-site support for carrying out the Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) of systems and equipment.
- Purpose: Ensure the systems are correctly installed and operational, meeting the defined specifications.

Commissioning Plans and Supervision

- Scope: Preparation and oversight of commissioning plans to ensure systems are tested, calibrated, and ready for operation.
- Purpose: Ensure that all systems are commissioned properly, checked for functionality, and optimized for performance.

Preparing GFC (Good for Construction) Drawings

- Scope: Preparation of finalized construction-ready drawings that include all specifications and instructions needed for the construction team.
- Purpose: These drawings are used as the definitive documents for construction and installation.

Checking of EDR (Equipment Data Requirement), FDS (Functional Design Specifications), IQ (Installation Qualification), and OQ (Operational Qualification) Protocols from Vendors

- Scope: Review of vendor-provided documentation (such as Equipment Data Requirements, Functional Design Specifications, etc.) to ensure compliance with the Validation Master Plan (VMP) for Direct Impact Systems (DIS).
- Purpose: Ensure that all systems and equipment are validated for compliance with regulatory requirements.

Writing IQ and OQ Reports, Deviation Reports, and Changing Controls for DIS

- Scope: Preparation of detailed reports documenting IQ and OQ results, deviations from expected performance, and any necessary changes or corrective actions.
- Purpose: Provide evidence of the successful qualification of systems and identify any issues to be resolved.

Installation Checks

- Scope: Verifying that the installation of all systems, equipment, and components is done according to the design specifications.
- Purpose: Confirm that the installations are carried out in accordance with the approved plans, ensuring the quality and safety of the facility.

Vendor Evaluation

- Scope: Evaluation of vendors for their capability, compliance, and performance history, ensuring they meet the project’s quality standards and timelines.
- Purpose: Select the best suppliers for materials, equipment, and services to meet the project’s requirements.

Approval of Validation Documentation (IQ, OQ, and Protocols)

- Scope: Getting approvals for protocols such as Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) from vendors to ensure alignment with the Validation Master Plan (VMP).
- Purpose: Ensure the Direct Impact Systems (DIS) are fully qualified for use and compliant with regulatory requirements.

System Compliance with International Regulatory Bodies

- Scope: Ensuring that the systems and installations comply with international regulations such as WHO, USFDA, EUGMP, and other relevant standards.
- Purpose: Ensure the project meets the stringent requirements set by global regulatory bodies.

Piping Installation Checks

- Scope: Inspection and verification of all piping installations to ensure they are completed according to the engineering design specifications.
- Purpose: Prevent errors during installation, ensuring that the piping systems are installed safely and correctly.
